Hi all,
I’ve run into an issue where the text size for GPlates became incredibly small all of a sudden after opening the program, and I have no idea how to fix this.
Does anybody have any clues on how to fix this?
Cheers

Interesting, I’ve not seen this before. Seems to be happening only along that horizontal bar just under the globe view.
This is on Windows, right? Which version of GPlates is this? And which version of Windows are you using?
Does it happen immediately after starting GPlates? Or after loading some files or a project? Just wondering if something is triggering it.
Thanks for the quick reply. It’s also happening elsewhere (I can’t upload more than one image sorry):
Yes this is on Windows, this is GPlates 2.4.0, I’m on Windows 11. This happens immediately after starting GPlates and it just happened one day out of random, I didn’t change versions or open any files I don’t usually open.
Hmm, interesting that it happened randomly one day (and presumably stayed that way ever since). It could be that another program/service was installed that day, and it also uses Qt5 DLLs (see the DLL issues in this thread).
Maybe try GPlates 2.5. I made a change to try to avoid GPlates using a Qt5 DLL that’s already loaded in memory (by another program/service). Not sure if it works though (see here), but worth a try.
Thank you so much! Updating to 2.5 fixed the issue so it was probably something to do with GPlates using an already loaded Qt5 DLL. I’m one of those people who really doesn’t like updating programs I use for creative projects cause sometimes it can mess with my workflow .
Hope you have a good rest of your (whatever time of day it is for you when you read this)!
