Plot paleomagnetic pole with ellipse of confidence

GPates has a feature to draw paleomagnetic poles (VGP) with a circle of confidence (alpha95 angle). That works well for poles that have been determined as a mean of individual poles, with an alpha95 angle for the circle of confidence. However, paleomagnetic poles are also determined from means of directions, rather than means of poles. In that case the mean direction will have an circle of confidence with an alpha95 angle, but pole from that mean direction will have an ellipse of confidence, defined by dp and dm angles. There does not seem to be a feature option in GPlates to draw ellipses of confidence around poles determined from mean directions. The procedure is described in Chapter 7 of Butler’s textbook that is available on line (https://websites.pmc.ucsc.edu/~njarboe/pmagresource/ButlerPaleomagnetismBook.pdf). It will be most helpful for paleomagnetists if such a feature can be added. Thanks.
