Hi everyone, I’m fairly new still to GPlates. Is there a way to measure the area within a closed feature?

Hi Colin,
Yes, you first select the feature (polygon) in the Choose Feature (F) tool and then you switch to the Measure (S) tool to see its area.
Here you can see the area inside Australia’s coastline is approximately 7.6 million square kilometres (and its perimeter is approximately 25,000 kms, not including the little island bits which are separate polygons; not that Tasmania is a little island 
)…
To measure another feature go back to the Choose Feature (F) tool again, select another feature, then go back to the Measure tool (S) to see its area (and perimeter).
