it shows me a window were it says failed to load
Is this when you first startup GPlates? Does it say something like Python initialization failed? If not, can you tell us the exact error message.
I searched for “failed to load” in the source code but only came up with an error related to loading symbol files (pretty sure you’re not doing that).
