Help with Relative rotations to anchored plate

Hello!

I’m following Artifexian’s guide. I’m trying to move a craton from its anchored plate, but when I try to change the poles, it always says indeterminate.

This is the relative relation pole:

Here is the rotation:

I’m trying to move 700, craton G from it’s parent plate Craton F (600)

Thank you!!!

It means the rotation is zero. It displays the rotation angle as zero, and so the rotation pole cannot be determined. In other words, any rotation pole will do (it doesn’t matter because they all don’t rotate).

Whether the rotation should be zero, I’m not sure. For 600->700 at 449.99 Ma, the plate circuit path will be 600->200->0->700.

Actually, I copied your rotations into a rotation file and loaded into GPlates 2.5 (on Windows) and I get a non-zero rotation.

If you have blank lines in your rotation file, try removing them and see if it helps - when I copy’n’pasted your post into my rotation file I had to remove them to avoid errors.
