Help with plate rotations

Hi,

I’m using static polygon and age grid files to do plate reconstructions in South Atlantic.

I’m looking at the reconstruction at anomaly C33r (79.1 Ma according to Gee and Kent 2007).

For some reason, the C33r anomaly picks from the South American plate and African conjugate plates don’t meet at the ridge at 79.1 Ma, the age when they should begin to appear. Instead, they meet at 78.5 Ma.

Can anyone please can tell me where I’m getting it wrong?

Maybe the rotation model mismatch with the anomaly picks???
