Feature Geometries Disappear when Topologies are Added

Hi there,

I am updating some plate topologies from the Zahirovic et al., 2022 dataset to include new plate boundaries. However when I add the plate boundaries topology file to the project some of the lines from the feature geometries disappear, so I can’t add them to the revised topology. It’s only when I eject the topology file that the lines reappear…

Do you know why this may be the case? It happens in GPlates 2.3 and 2.5 on a Windows 64bit computer.

Hi Alan,

Try selecting View > Geometry Visibility > Show Topological Sections (see here).

It’s likely you loaded a project file that has it unselected. And it would be unselected because most users would only want to see the plate boundaries (and not the lines used to build them).
