# What feature type to use for extinct mid-ocean ridges?(oops, put in wrong category before)

Hey! In my world there is a triple-junction where one of the mid-ocean ridges gets subducted by a newly formed subduction zone. It should leave a weak point in the crust, yes? If so, what feature type should be used to represent this?

I’m not sure if there’s a specific feature type for that, but the feature class _comments_ in the [GPlates Geological Information Model](https://www.gplates.org/docs/gpgim) might be helpful (the feature _descriptions_ in the [Create Feature dialog](https://www.gplates.org/docs/user-manual/Creating_Features/#11-digitisation-tools) in GPlates come from there, but the _comments_ provide extra information outside of GPlates).
