# Please help. I keep getting 'Error reading moving plate ID'

Hi Dayna,

I would try using a different text editor as Christian describes [here](https://discourse.gplates.org/t/gplates-rot-error-message/882/6). It looks like you’re using the Windows built-in Notepad.

Your first screenshot shows `Cratons 3.txt` whereas your error message shows `Cratons 3.rot`, so the error message might belong to a different file than you’re showing.
