I know GPlates is designed to show plate tectonics, but has someone tried to show any tectonics instead? I wanted to simulate the entire history of a planet, which includes Heat Pipe Tectonics and maybe Drip-and-Plume (as described in [Worldbuilding Pasta](https://worldbuildingpasta.blogspot.com/2020/01/an-apple-pie-from-scratch-part-vb.html), neither of them are actual tectonics plates.

How can I do that in GPlates? I mean, GPlates allow the creation of several feature types on a planet, which ones are the ones I had to use for such a project?

I’m lost honestly. I never used GPlates nor know much about geology, but I plan on making a very detailed speculative evolution world, and for such a project, I wanted to include early planetary geology.

Anyone have experience about this subject?

Thanks
