# How do I begin? Digitize New Polyline Problem

All the tutorials of GPlates I’ve watched say that to begin, you simply select the “Digitize New Polyline Geometry” button and you can start drawing on the globe… but mine doesn’t. No matter what I do or select, I can’t draw **anything**!
